I love you,
But I'm chasing you away!
It's not that I don't want you near me,
It's just that I'm prone to inflict pain.

I don't want to hurt you,
I don't want to see you cry,
I don't want to make your heart
Whither away and die.

So I write, this here poem,
So that you won't ever hate me
Because I want you close,
But I'm turning you away more and more daily.

Yea, that's what I really want to say,

And I need you more each day."

I'm tired of broken hearts,
No, that's not what I want to see,
But if you and I are together,
That is how it may be.

The truth is that
I am prone to inflict pain.
That is why, my dear, I have been
