"Bloom Blue Mist" (Sophia)

Inspired by and dedicated to Sophia.

Beautiful at a magnitude
Of ten to the tenth
Power of ten thousand men
Outstretching latitude and longitude.

You are precious,
You are unique
And your smile is so concrete
That it leaves everyone breathless.

You are an angel to us all
And we love you, yes we do.
We love to watch you grow and bloom,
Caryopteris, Blue Mist in Fall.

You are perfectly
Happy all of the time.
You are in tune with the magic of life.
You are our strawberry shortcake, always sweet.

You are beautiful at a magnitude
And so precious to us all.
You are our angel, our Blue Mist in Fall.
If we were Earth you'd be our latitude and longitude.

"Looking For A Miss"

Dedicated to Regina Texeira for being a friend and for patiently waiting for it.

I'm looking for a young miss,
With a velvet kiss,
Silky and completely
Arousing as can be.

I'm looking for a young miss,
One I can't resist,
One that does persist
And that makes me reminisce.

One that does remind
Of how love is so defined
As a symphony of heavenly
Composed compositions of our lives.

Will you be that miss,
Will you breathe a kiss
Velvet like and silkily
Inclined to create bliss.

Yea I'm looking for that miss
The one I have yet to find,
The one I write for. This
Is for you and your wonderful mind.

"Huracán De Amor" (Ginette)

Inspirado por y dedicado a Ginette Hidalgo.

Ella dijo:
"Quiero que me arrope un huracán de amor."
Yo le respondo con un abrazo
Directo a su corazón.

Un beso de sorpresa,
Plantado en la mejilla.
Un beso para que sepas
Que eres amada, linda.

Eres preciosamente hermosa,
Eres angelical,
También muy cariñosa,
Únicamente genial.

Genialmente coqueta,
Con sonrisa que enamora.
Sonrisa tan completa
Que a tu corazón controla.

Eres totalmente amada,
Que nunca se te olvide, bella.
Aquí tienes tu huracán de amor
Para tu corazón, estrella.

"One Word Or Two" (Crystal)

Inspired by and dedicated to Crystal Carrera.

You said to describe you in one word
Or two, but I've got plenty.
I could say that you are, in one word, (complete)
Or, in two, (intoxicatingly merry).

You're (beautifully tempting),
Sincerely that's the truth.
So when I say that I can write
"A million things about you,"

Believe it because I just did.
I can compose one thousand songs
In one thousand grains of sand and that's no fib.
A thousand grains of sands can be concatenated into glass, am I wrong?

So do believe what's written here.
What for you I, here, do write.
You are (amazingly amazing),
A (beautiful moon) that at night is (perfectly bright).

In one word or two you are (Simply be-musing) in the way (you mesmerize),
The way (you captivate) a (beautiful mind)
And are (astoundingly defined)
You are an (inspiring inspiration) to the sight seen by the eye.

"My Love, My Dear"

Inspired by and dedicated to L.Q.

Turn that frown
Up-side-down
Give me a smile
And I'll

Make sure you keep it.
Feel the warmth deeply,
Embedded in you uniquely.
For you are special and neatly

Aligned with facts
That support your acts
As being divine, leaving thought intact.
As all wrongs directed towards you are reverted back

You are left unharmed.
Whether or not they are armed
With sticks and stones do not be alarmed
For all wrong against you I'll prevent from being farmed.

In you no hate shall grow
For you will be protected from all crow
That may linger around you because I'll make them go
Away. Yes, away they will fly to return nevermore.

So do not fear,
For the coast is clear
And you may land here,
In my heart and remain near my love, my dear.

"For Your Embrace" (Soanny)

Inspired by and dedicated to Soanny Sanchez.

Inclined to a thought,
I decide to write
The second poem of the day
Because one did not suffice.

One problem manifests,
A big problem yes indeed
For I am not inspired
To write, no siree.

Then I see a picture,
One that, me, does blind.
A picture capturing your beauty
And it makes me want to write.

So beautiful, so sexy,
So wonderfully tempting
That you make this poet wonder
How he'll begin his own tormenting.

I tell my mind to think
Of one and a half million things
That I could put on paper
About this world to heaven link.

So when I look up to see the moon
And I only see your face,
With a smile I write this poem
For your beautiful mind to embrace.

"I Write Again" (Yasmin 02)

A second inspiration by and dedication to Yasmin J. Cruz.

If it's not love, nor lust
What does compel the mind to be
So adhered towards admiration,
So attentive to your being.

I've written once before
For your entertainment no less.
To you I write again, I ask myself why?
But I find no reason, I confess.

You said my words before
Were entertaining, but not of you.
You said to write again
And I thought it sort of rude.

Though here I am, I sit and write
A compilation of simple thoughts
For you to read, for you to find
In your mind all of its flaws.

So do dare ask and I may say
I'll write again for you to read.
I do not mind if you reply
Write again, but this time of me.

"On AIM With CuCa" (Leslie)

Inspired and dedicated to Leslie "CuCa" Vega.

Well, it's been some time
And I
Have been wondering if life
Has been treating you alright.

How have you been?
Dear friend from long ago,
How's everything with you?
I really want to know.

I was reminiscing on how we
Used to be
On AIM all day back in our teens
Speaking about the fun we would have when we meet.

We spoke of playing this fun game,
The one you used to play
When you lived here in NY and used to take the train
Back in the good old days.

This all started a few days ago
When I came across, in the grocery store,
A banana flavored Nesquick milk,
Your favorite flavor since years before

The dreadful worries of paying the bills.
Since before we lost the time we killed
Chatting away in front of the monitor that displayed
The images we exchanged back in the good old days.

I miss you Leslie
It's been a while, but you're still gently
Held in my heart as a friend
I hope this finds you well and a smile it lends.

"Let Them See" (Luisanny)

Inspired by and dedicated to my cousin Luisanny Ortiz.

Yea, that's right walk it out
Show them what you're all about.

Let them see and let them talk
Because they can't stand your walk.

They're just jealous, that's the truth
They can't stand that they can't be you.

That's why they lie and they do say
All of those words of anger and hate.

So do indeed be all you are
And let them see that they can't harm

You or your integrity.
They can not harm who they can't be.

"The Cleansed of hate" (Cenobia)

Inspired by and dedicated to Cenobia Carlantini.

Oh! Dear sweet and gentle,
Instrumental
Consequence of existential
And experimental
Circumstances so sequential
And fulfilling to human beings.

You're so sweet
And loved by he
Who is to see
Who you be
Hidden deep
Inside of thee.

I want to say
To you today
That I dedicate
These words that commemorate
You, the great
Cenobia, the cleansed of hate.

Marline

Inspired by and dedicated to Marline Rodriguez.

So sexy, so curvacious,
You infatuate the eye.
The sight of you is outstanding
And even before you speak your mind

You're amazing.
But whenever you do speak
The chit-chattering and click-clacking
Stops and everyone awaits to hear your voice silently.

You're loud
And over exalted at times
Which may be why before you are known
You are judged and wrongfully defined.

But don't stop being yourself
And don't take the time to believe
What they're saying, they're just hating
Because you, they can not be.

Emely

Inspired by and dedicated to Emely Reynoso.

With inspiration yet to come
I'm deep in thought when I see your face.
You carry a smile, a lovely smile,
One which in my mind has been engraved.

So just when I thought inspiration gone,
Inspiration returns as an image of you.
Therefore I write and form a bond
With pen and paper as a poem blooms.

The thought of you brings memories,
Dear memories of younger times.
Simpler times when we thought our twenties
Were too far off for us to climb.

But now we're here, we're twenty two;
"How does it feel?" I dare not ask.
For I do know and you'll be turning twenty three soon.
That's why with you I'll raise my flask.

Together we shall drink away all worries to come.
We, us and friends with whiskey in hand,
Palo viejo, coquito too; Bacardi and Brugal because we love rum.
We'll celebrate with Latino pride, we will stand out, we will out-stand.

"First Kiss" (Yasmin)

Inspired by and dedicated to Yasmin J. Cruz

She has a tremendous smile
With an attitude to match.
A curiosity as vast as the Nile
Like an itch that can't be scratched.

So when I refused to answer:
"How did it happen, your first kiss?"
She insisted until I gave in and had to
Say "It went like this... "

.....

Once upon a time,
Back in '99,
I met this concoction of pure beauty yet defined.

She was amazingly resounding whenever she spoke.
She demanded all attention and it was the same when she wrote.
She was amazing in my eyes and so one day I wrote her a note.

The note was simple,
It was folded so that when closed in the middle
There was a heart with a riddle.

I gave her the note thinking myself bold.
When she read it though, she responded with an answer I thought cold.
For it was not what I wanted nor expected, it was "NO!"

I turned away sad and gloomy because the girl that I liked
Had put on paper very simply that my request was denied.
So I walked over to my seat, silently with that thought in mind.

But right before I sat, on my shoulder I felt a hand.
It was hers she turned me around, she kissed me and then
She smiled and said "I was joking silly, of course I want to be your girlfriend."

.....

So that's the story,
That's my first kiss,
My day of glory,
My day of bliss.

"Appease Her Heart to be Complete" (Trang)

Inspired by and dedicated to Trang Son

Oh! Dear thoughts resounding in the mind
Do please convey what a lost soul need find
To be able to live on happily 'til eternity.
What must one do to feel worthy of her complexity?

She, who is armed with a milky coating for a skin
And a universe within the eyes that sweeten her soft grin,
Is too precious a being to be betrothed to anyone.
No, not just anyone can claim her his and then be done.

A free spirit, yes, indeed she does carry within the depths.
Together with a warm heart, full of love, centering her chest.
So one who dreams of being hers and of her being his
Must be able to withstand the venom of a serpent's kiss.

A serpent's kiss, Medusa's smile and the wrath of seven seas;
The four winds, a giant bee and a demon king one must appease.
Thereof, dear thoughts, as you may see the dilemma starts and ends
With her being the one that makes a lost soul complete.

"A Mother's Heart" (Helena)

Inspired by and dedicated to Helena Cabrera.

She said:  "This heart still beats a bit,
It has yet to go cold."
So she still hopes for a light to be lit
And a story be told.
She holds on tight to hope, therefore she'll sit
And wait for love to come home with the gold.

Although all of this goes on,
She doesn't fail to see
That she has got the greatest gift, a son,
One that makes her complete.
A being with more love than any foregone.
A being more special than any she'll meet.

So her heart grows warmer
With each beautiful sight
Of this gift that's been brighter
Than the stars' blinding light.
A gift that's her anchor to reality river.
The gift of a life that warms her heart day and night.

Denise

Inspired by and dedicated to my cousin Denise Ortiz-Valdez.

Your beauty in its essence,
In it's purest form, defined
Is thought to be a present
Given by the divine.

You are perfection that when sought
Can never be found
For those who seek even the thought
To the ground shall be bound.

You are complete, the jealous say,
And your flaws they fail to miss,
But the truth is that without flaws, nay,
Perfection can never exist.

So perfect-be and perfect-stay,
Stay perfectly unique like Greece,
Because the truth is as bright as day,
You are one of a kind, Denise.

Karolynn

Inspired by and dedicated to Karolynn Yanil Mejia.

"K" is for killer
Because your beauty is hazardous to life.
"A" is for amazing
Because your presence lights up the night.
"R" is for restricted
Because you're not for everyone.
"O" is for objective
Because what you want done gets done.
"L" is for literal
Because you mean what you say.
"Y" is for youthful
Because you live it up each day.
"N" is for nonchalant
Because you're not easily phased.
"N" again for natural
Because you were birthed not made.

You Rain on My Earth

I like the rain,
Indeed I do.
I like the gray
Sky without blue.

I like the moon,
No, not the sun.
I know I'm different
From everyone.

I keep dark secrets,
Everyone does.
I've never told you
All that I must.

I keep on thinking
That you and I
Can be together
This rainy night.

So that tonight
I may confess
This secret that's
Kept in my chest.

The secret is...
What I want to say
Is that I love you
More with each day.

I love you sweetly,
I love you completely,
Completely uniquely,
I love you dearly.

For this reason
The sun I hate,
I hate blue skies
And love rainy days.

As of you I'm reminded
With each gray sky,
The beauty of nature
At its prime.

The rain cleanses the earth
As you cleanse my heart,
Bringing purity with a unity
That can not be torn apart.
